Olympic Lifting Clinic - 9 Week Registered Program Details

Event Description

Over the course of 15 sessions in 9 weeks, spend 90 minutes training and strengthening the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk, under the guidance of Ford Davidson (NCCP Level 1 Trained), Deon Horsley (Catalyst Level 1 & 2 Certified) & Sylwia Wenslaw (Catalyst Level 1 Certified).

The 90 Minute Class will Include: 
Training the Snatch and the Clean & Jerk
Development of Speed, Explosive Strength & Coordination
Identifying & Correcting Faults in Technique
Improving Lift Specific Range of Motion & Mobility
Prehabilitation and Accessory Work
A Coach Instructed & Supervised Training Program Per Session
A Mock Olympic Lifting Meet On The Last Day! 

Thursday from 7:30pm to 9:00pm
Sunday from 11:30am to 1:00pm

Prerequisites: While no previous experience is required, it is highly encouraged that participants attend the Olympic Lifting 4 Hour Workshop hosted on Sunday, October 1st, from 11:30am to 3:30pm.

This 90 minute workshop will equip attendees with the foundations, skills and movements necessary to improve overall body control, stability and strength for the muscle up. Atlas Stone Workshop with Coach Deon

Event Description

Join us Saturday, September 23rd from 11:30am to 1:30pm, as Coach Deon will be introducing athletes to the infamous Atlas Stone; named after the Greek titan of endurance, used historically by Europeans to measure strength and fortitude. 

Participants will be taken through proper lifting techniques, weighted warm up techniques, a test of strength and then finish off with a partner workout. 

Bedrock CrossFit Members & Non Members are encouraged to register, however we request that all participants have (at minimum) a 1 & 1/4 Bodyweight Deadlift, as well as a Front Squat of 70 to 75% of that Deadlift.

In this 50 minute workshop, Certified Holistic Nutritional Coach, Regan Gray will help you identify if you need supplementation, including the highly marketed world of sport supplements. Discover if the powders and drinks your favorite athletes endorse actually aid in recovery and promote lean muscle mass and are safe to use daily - or even multiple times a day.

Community Karma Day

The Community Karma Day will be on Friday, June 16th, in support of Camp Quality.  Camp Quality Canada is a volunteer, non-profit, charitable organization that strives to improve the quality of life for children living with cancer through camps and year-round family support programs.  Camp Quality runs camps worldwide and has one near Calgary in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. Bedrock volunteered to run a fun activity Day last summer, and we will do so again this year.

To support this great organization, all workouts on Friday, June 16th will be a paid drop-in and a 'Bring a Friend' event.  The drop in cost is $5, which will enter you in a raffle for Calgary Folk Festival tickets donated by the Calgary Folk Fest!  (And, don't worry, if you are on a limited number of workouts per week or a 10 pass, if you pay the $5, this workout doesn't count against your weekly/ 10 pass total.)  For more chances to win, you can buy more raffle tickets for $5, or buy 5 tickets for $20.  100% of proceeds from the Friday WODs will go to Camp Quality. 

Folk Fest tickets available in the raffle are: 

  • 2 x 4 day passes  

  • 2 x Thursday tickets (Dawes/ Coeur de Pirate/ Billy Bragg + more)
